San Parks Magazine Adverts

Working as a designer for a company where my main work is designing our publication, I often need to design some of the adverts for our clients, and i fi9nd i quite enjoy this side of it as it’s a break from the building of the publication. Sometimes it’s a real challenge trying to marry good design together with what the client wants from the avert/wants in the advert. At times the client literally takes over the design completely telling you what to put in where and what colours to use etc. While direction in what they would like from you is good and I love to make our clients happy, I often just feel like chimp in front of the computer in some cases.

Anyway I digress below are the adverts for one of our clients.

2008 SAN (South African National) Parks Magazine Advert ....and here's the one I've been working on for this years. Still pending approval, if it changes I'll add it up here.
Though Generally I like to use the Photo as it is - if it's a quality photograph - sometimes I feel the need to do some editing on it. In this case the Background foliage was making the image too busy, and I felt that you weren’t getting the focus on the graceful Giraffes. I also think it has given the Giraffes a more dignified graceful appearance.
